Know What Your Answers Are Based On

At SOPwise.ai, we know how critical it is to trust the answers you get — especially in high-stakes environments like the ICU or operating room.

That’s why we’ve just introduced a powerful new feature that helps you immediately understand where an answer comes from: Topic Coverage Detection.

🧭 What is Topic Coverage Detection?

When you ask a medical or protocol-related question in SOPwise, the app now tells you how well your topic is supported by the SOPs you've uploaded. It classifies each response into one of three levels:

🟢 Fully Covered

“This topic is fully covered by the loaded SOPs.”

You’ll see a green checkmark when your question is directly answered using your institution's SOPs. These answers are grounded in your existing protocols and practices — the gold standard.

🟡 Partially Covered

“This topic is only partially supported by the loaded SOPs.”

Some parts of the answer are based on your SOPs, others are filled in with general medical knowledge. A yellow warning icon makes this clear.

🔴 Not Covered

“This topic is NOT covered by the loaded SOPs.”

In this case, the app still gives you a useful answer — but it’s drawn from external clinical sources (via ChatGPT), not your internal documents. A red alert helps you spot this right away.

💡 Why This Matters

Medical protocols aren’t just “nice to have” — they’re what keep care consistent, safe, and evidence-based. But in the real world, SOPs don’t always cover everything.

Now, with this update:

  • You can ask freely, even outside SOP scope.
  • You’ll always know the difference between SOP-backed guidance and general AI assistance.
  • You stay in control of how much weight to give the response — especially when protocols are missing or under revision.

🛠 Example in Action:

Question: What is the clonidine perfusor dose in ICU?

Coverage Level: 🔴 Not Covered

➤ The system provides a general overview with safety notes — but makes it clear this isn’t in your uploaded SOPs. Time to consult a pharmacist or local guideline.

Question: What’s the maximal inspired partial pressure of oxygen?

Coverage Level: 🟢 Fully Covered

➤ The system pulls directly from your SOPs — complete with reference and page number.

🏁 Bottom Line

With SOPwise.ai, it’s not just about giving an answer — it’s about showing the source of that answer, so clinicians can make the right decision with confidence.

This is a step toward a smarter, more transparent future in digital protocol support — and we’re just getting started.
